چکیده

Abstract The Mars Mineralogical Spectrometer (MMS) is a hyperspectral imager onboard the orbiter of Tianwen-1, China’s first exploration mission. MMS consists 4 subassemblies: an Optical Sensor Unit (OSU), Electronics (EU), Calibration (CU), and Thermal Control Accessories (TCA). With 0.5 mrad IFOV 416-sample cell array for nadir observation, can map spectral spatial information Martian surface through push-broom scanning, it transmit scientific data by mode or multispectral imaging combination. perform multi-sample at full resolution (0.379–1.076 μm with 2.73 nm/band, 1.033–3.425 7.5 both ranges 2.1 km/pixel 265 km). For wavelength region interest, mapping provides additional options, subset 72 bands that are binned to minimum pixel footprints m/pixel. major objective analyze compositions distributions minerals on surface, in order characterize its evolution.

Bright and dark regions on Mars: Particle size and mineralogical characteristics based on Thermal Emission Spectrometer data

Received 24 August 2001; revised 30 April 2002; accepted 22 May 2002; published 11 December 2002. [1] Emissivity spectra (1670–200 cm ) from the Mars Global Surveyor Thermal Emission Spectrometer (MGS-TES) show significant differences between bright and dark surfaces, allowing further investigation of their physical and mineralogical character. TES spectra from bright surfaces (albedo 0.2) typi...

Mineralogical biosignatures and the search for life on Mars.

If life ever existed, or still exists, on Mars, its record is likely to be found in minerals formed by, or in association with, microorganisms. An important concept regarding interpretation of the mineralogical record for evidence of life is that, broadly defined, life perturbs disequilibria that arise due to kinetic barriers and can impart unexpected structure to an abiotic system. Many featur...

ESA's Mars Express Mission – Europe on Its Way to Mars

Introduction In the broad context of planetary science, Mars represents an important transition between the outer volatile-rich, more oxidised regions of the accretion zone of the terrestrial bodies (asteroid belt) and the inner, more refractory and less oxidised regions from which Earth, Venus and Mercury accreted. Its size, the degree of internal activity, the age of its surface features, and...

Chemical and Mineralogical Constraints for Modeling Hydrous Environments on Mars from the Mars Exploration Rovers

Introduction: The twin Mars Exploration Rovers (MER) Spirit and Opportunity have explored the Martian surface at Gusev Crater (GC) and Meridiani Planum (MP) for more that 1840 sols (more than 5 Earth years). Their science payload [1] includes instruments for mineralogical (Mössbauer (MB), Mini-TES, and Pancam) and chemical (APXS) analysis and a tool (RAT) for brushing and grinding rock surfaces...
